Change Honor 8 Pro Model Number
Huawei Honor 8 Pro is a special smartphone that is on sale only in Internet. The model number in China is DUK-AL20 and the international model number is DUK-L09. There are differences between software and VoLTE. You may need to switch between AL20 and L09. This will also put you in a different queue when it comes to receive latest updates for your device.
First remove the bootloader lock. Next, install the appropriate TWRP menu with version 3.1.1 or higher. The personal computer to be used for this has to have ADB, Fastboot and USB drivers for Honor 8 Pro installed. An external microSD card is a requirement to complete the steps.

Modified Stock Recovery
Download one of the oeminfo files and both recovery images with the name nocheck. Copy and paste them to ADB folder. Also, download the stock ROM file for the same model. Turn off the device, then turn it on by holding down the volume up button until the Honor logo appears. By using TWRP, enter Terminal through Advanced and send the following.
dd if=/external_sd/oeminfo_DUK-<model number>.bin of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/oeminfo
Connect the smartphone via USB cable and transfer oeminfo file to the internal storage. Start the device in recovery mode and select Reboot – Bootloader.
Launch ADB in PC and type the followings:
fastboot flash recovery DUK-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img fastboot flash recovery2 DUK-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img
Transfer the dload folder inside the ROM to the microSD card. Now, while the device is turned off, press and hold the both volume buttons and the power button. This is a force update and after that the device will boot just normally. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to the ask.
